Nyeri Hill Farm is a multifaceted farm located in the central part of Kenya specifically Nyeri County. It is owned and managed by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri.

The farm is over 3,000 Acres large with 825 Acres under Coffee and 100 acres are under tea. Our farming activities include Coffee, Tea, Livestock, Horticulture and Afforestation.

Within the farm’s precincts, there are over 23 Institutions which include Schools and Colleges, Hospital, Seminaries and early childhood education facilities.

A little bit of History

The farm was established in 1904 by the Consolata Missionaries. In 1914, the Consolata fathers introduced coffee, with the first demonstration plot near the present site of the Consolata Mission Hospital Mathari.

In 1934, the Consolata Fathers installed a dry and wet mill for processing the coffee. They would then export the coffee to back to Turin, Italy, their birth place. The mill is still functional to date.

Coffee is the major farm produce at Hill Farm with a little under 30% of the entire farm being coffee.

The main mission of establishing the farm was to generate income to facilitate evangelization, eradicate ignorance, poverty and disease.

Over 90% of our employees are sourced from the local community and the Archdiocese has over the years assisted the local community by providing them with subsidized health, education facilities, social amenities and spiritual nourishment.
