DAIRY FARMING
At Nyeri Hill Farm, currently we have 108 heads of dairy cows. We produce an average of 550 litres of milk daily.
We sell the fresh milk to our institutions and neighbouring community.
In our quest for value addition, we also produce fresh yoghurt which package and sell to consumers through our outlet.
Silage and fodder produced in the farm are the main sources of food for our dairy cows.
BEEF FARMING
We also have 108 heads of beef cattle.
We have a slaughter house at the farm. A government meat inspector always inspects the meat before it is then moved to our outlet at the farm shop for storage and sale. Our customers range from individuals to institutions.
Our beef product over the last couple of years has gained popularity due to the freshness and softness of the meat. Since the cattle are fed with produce from the farm directly, quality is assured on the end product.
PIG FARMING
We have at least 150 heads of pigs in our pig farm at Nyeri Hill Farm. We rear pigs solely for their meat.
Pork accounts for 38% of the world’s meat production, making it a very popular meat. They are slaughtered at our slaughter house in the farm and the pork sold through our outlet to our customers.
GOAT & SHEEP FARMING
Our goat and sheep farming has been growing year after year. We now have 128 heads of goat and sheep for both milk and meat.
